Dustin Park is no stranger to the island-style contemporary music of the Hawaiian Islands. His father, Teimoni Tatofi, and Uncle, Tivaini, were the original Guitarist and Bassist for the Island Reggae and Contemporary group, "Kapena." Having heard his father's and uncle's stories and with their shared wisdom, Dustin desired more than ever to share his love and heritage.
In 2011, Dustin joined Nā Hōkū Hanohano's Award-Nominated Reggae band, "Conscious Roots," as their lead guitarist and eventually frontman. In 2013, Conscious Roots released their second full-length album, "Carry On," with 9 of the 12 tracks being Dustin's original songs. Dustin's songs "Lifetime" and "Addicted" took the Hawaiian Island airwaves by storm, which soon led to the band's 2014 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award Nomination for "Best Reggae Album of the Year." In 2015, the original "Kapena" band reunited for their 30th Anniversary Reunion Tour. This was an opportunity for the "Kapena Kids" to honor their fathers and perform for the first time. This was the first time Dustin had performed with his father on the same stage in front of over 12,000 people.
Today, you can catch Dustin at numerous venues throughout Hawaii. His music’s soulful quality, distinctive singing voice, and passion for playing guitar have connected with audiences far and near. Dustin Park’s single release, “Love At First Sight,” is currently on rotation on local radio.
